Using that Tone … on you?

Thanks for that little wait, some tech problems came along, I hope it wasn’t too boring and I truly wish that this information has been helpful to understand a little bit better how to start building your best mask.

Now, once you have noticed which color hue suits you better, it is time to check up which tone, remember that in this world there are scales, and so is with color too, it’s not the same thing a baby blue and a midnight blue.
So what is tone then? Tone is the quantity of black or white within a color and it helps to give effects of illumination or shadows on the color applied.
And since tone has two applicable options (white and black) that will modify the color’s tone there are two options to which color may move within tone that is. These two options are lightness and deepness.

Lightness is spotted when a color has white within itself; those are known as light colors. Light colors have the ability to create an effect of growth so things covered in light colors may appear bigger to the eye. Light colors also reflect light, which helps to illuminate areas near them. Also light colors help to keep things fresh because with the influence of white, these colors repel heat by nature therefore they aid on keeping things fresh.
Deepness is spotted when a color has black within itself; those are known as deep colors. Deep colors have the ability to create an effect of shrinking so things covered in deep colors may appear smaller to the eye. Deep colors absorb light, which creates shadows on areas around them. Also deep colors help to keep things warm because with the influence of black, these colors absorb heat by nature therefore they aid on keeping things warm.
But how can you tell which tone might suit you better? Should you run towards the clean and perfect white or maybe towards the elegant and mysterious black?  It is all very simple, just as it was done to discover the personal hue, now it’s time to check up to see if the balance shall bend on the light tones or the deep tones .
Let’s start scoring points to pick up the personal tone for you.

The light eyes are all those where color is more distinctive such colors are: hazel, gray, light green and light blue.
The deep eyes are all those where color is much darker such colors are: black, dark brown, dark green and dark blue.
Once we already scored the eye tone, we can move on to the hair tone.
The light hairs are all those where the amount of white over rules some color and intensifies another. Inside the light hairs we can find: Golden Blonde, Strawberry Blonde, Platinum Blonde, Ash Blonde or White.
The deep hairs are all those where the amount of black over rules some color and intensifies another. Inside the deep hairs we can find: Auburn, Chestnut, Brown, Dark Brown, Black/Brown or Jet Black.
Having settled eye tone and hair tone the only thing left to score is the skin; however some people get troubled by skin toning definition. These troubles are easily removed with a proper skin tone definition.
The light skins are all those skins that look shiny and illuminated when set before a white screen. However if placed before a black screen it will look pale and all the color will seem washed off.

The deep skins are all those that look stunning and the features become very strong and defined when set before a black screen. However if placed before a white screen it will look dirty or darkened.

Once you’ve checked the scores set before you can realize if you are a light person or a deep person (talking about color of course) and then the color picking decision will be easier for you to handle and everything will become quite simple I can guarantee you that!
Next up is checking up Chroma, but before we got on that I’ll have to move around for a little bit, but I’ll see you by the balcony in a while. Until then … have a fun time!
